SUNDAY MORNINGS
WHAT TO EXPECT
WORSHIP SERVICE
Our worship service begins at 9:15 AM. Worship services include prayer, singing, Scripture reading, testimonies, & a sermon. All ages participate in the first half of our worship service. Keiki are invited to leave for KIDS’ CLUB before the sermon. Our services typically end around 10:40 AM. Please come dressed however you are most comfortable.
PARKING
There is ample parking on the church property.
WHEN YOU ARRIVE
UABC has 2 buildings on our property. Our worship center is the building is on the makai side (closest to the ocean) of the parking lot. Please enter the worship center through the door on the front of the building, closest to the road. Before you enter the building, our welcome team will greet you and ask for your name (for our attendance records). You may sit wherever you would like. If you are deaf or hard of hearing, we have a reserved section for you at the front of the worship center.
BABIES
Babies are welcome to stay with you during the service, in worship center. If you would like to leave your baby with our team of caring nursery workers, you make take them upstairs (above the worship center) to the babies’ room. If you and your baby need a quiet place to watch the service, you may stay in the babies’ room with them. To find the babies’ room, walk down the lanai (patio) and into the fellowship hall. Then, take the stairs up to the second floor (we have a ramp on the mauka (parking lot) side of the building, if needed). The babies’ classroom is the last classroom on the right. Our babies’ classroom is air-conditioned.
KIDS
SUMMER UPDATE: We believe that God has created all of us to be worshippers! This summer our elementary-aged students will be learning more about what it means to be a worshipper as they participate in the entire worship service on Sunday mornings during June and July. We will have KIDS’ Club for children, ages 2-6. Our Elementary KIDS Club group will resume in August.
After you enter the building, you will notice a kids’ check-in station on the lanai. Children, ages 7-12, may check in and receive their worship box (please have your child wait until the “top pop” prompt in our worship service to open their box). Children, ages 2-6, may check in for KIDS’ Club. If it is your child’s first time at KIDS’ CLUB, we will provide you with a QR code for to scan with your phone, so you can register your child for KIDS’ CLUB. You can also register your child before you arrive here. Keiki will be dismissed for KIDS’ CLUB following the music portion of our worship service. If you have a preschool-aged child, please walk with them to KIDS CLUB (you may leave after they are safely in the next building). Please pick your child up from their KIDS’ CLUB classroom following the worship service, by entering through the playground gate.

WHAT WE BELIEVE
The Triune Nature of God
God always has been and always will be. He created life and sustains life. He has no equal. He exists in 3 distinct and equal persons: the Father, the Son, and the Spirit.
The Bible
The Bible is the inspired Word of God, relevant for daily living, and the final authority on all matters of faith.
Salvation
The blood of Jesus Christ, shed on the cross, provides the sole basis for the forgiveness of sin. Therefore, salvation occurs when people place their faith in the death and resurrection of Christ as sufficient payment for their sin.
Priesthood of the Believer
Each individual follower of Christ can go directly to God without the aid of any intermediary, and can, and should, read and interpret the Bible for him/herself without religious officials dictating what to believe.
Baptism
Biblical baptism is:
– by immersion
– for the believer
-symbolic of the death and resurrection on the believer shares with Christ
– an act of obedience
– an act of worship
Lord’s Supper/Communion
This ordinance of the church is:
– for the believer
– symbolic
– an act of obedience – an act of worship
Autonomy of the Local Church
University Avenue Baptist Church is an autonomous body of Christ followers, operating through democratic processes under the Lordship of Jesus Christ, and is voluntarily affiliated with Hawaii Pacific Baptist Convention (HPBC) and numerous other partner institutions at the national and global level.
