SERVICE INFORMATION

1. We are a multi-generational church! During this phase of our re-opening, all ages will worship together. There will be no classes for children at this time.

2. Everyone is asked to use face coverings for the duration of the service.

3. There will be one entrance point and one exit point for each worship service. You will enter through the front door of the sanctuary (the door facing University Avenue) and will exit through the lanai doors.

4. A number of hand sanitizing stations will be available. We ask that everyone use the hand sanitizing station upon entrance into the sanctuary.

5. An usher will walk each individual/household to their seat, to help ensure we observe social distancing guidelines.

6. An index card will be in the back of each chair pocket. We ask that each individual/household write their name and the number in their party on an index card and drop it in the attendance basket on the way out. This will allow us to track attendance to make sure we are following proper social distancing protocol.

7. We will not have our normal greeting time and discourage any hugging or shaking hands.

8. Tithes and offerings will be collected in bowls at the lanai exit.

9. After the service, we will exit the sanctuary row by row.

10. The fellowship hall will only be used for restrooms. The only restrooms available will be the women and men’s restrooms in the fellowship hall. Please maintain social distancing guidelines during restroom use, and when waiting to use the restroom.

11. The sanctuary and bathrooms will be cleaned and sanitized between services.

12. Bible study groups will continue to meet online.

13. Our online service will continue to be provided.

SAFETY

1. We ask anyone who is high risk or sick please remain at home during this time.

2. Parents will be responsible for their children before, during, and after the service. Please be sure children observe social distancing requirements.

Where do my children go?

Children are an important part of UABC! School-aged children are invited to participate in the church service. Classes for children, ages 0-6, are offered during the worship service in the Koon Mission Building. We have classes for infants and toddlers (room 3) and preschoolers (room 2) during the worship service.

What does the church believe?

The Triune Nature of God

God always has been and always will be. He created life and sustains life. He has no equal. He exists in 3 distinct and equal persons: the Father, the Son, and the Spirit.

The Bible

The Bible is the inspired Word of God, relevant for daily living, and the final authority on all matters of faith.

Salvation

The blood of Jesus Christ, shed on the cross, provides the sole basis for the forgiveness of sin. Therefore, salvation occurs when people place their faith in the death and resurrection of Christ as su icient payment for their sin.

Priesthood of the Believer

Each individual follower of Christ can go directly to God without the aid of any intermediary, and can, and should, read and interpret the Bible for him/herself without religious o icials dictating what to believe.

Baptism

Biblical baptism is:
– by immersion
– for the believer
-symbolic of the death and resurrection on the believer shares with Christ
– an act of obedience
– an act of worship

Lord’s Supper/Communion

This ordinance of the church is:
– for the believer
– symbolic
– an act of obedience – an act of worship

Autonomy of the Local Church

University Avenue Baptist Church is an autonomous body of Christ followers, operating through democratic processes under the Lordship of Jesus Christ, and is voluntarily affiliated with Hawaii Pacific Baptist Convention (HPBC) and numerous other partner institutions at the national and global level.
