Parenting is hard and often lonely. Manoa Moms is a ministry of University Avenue Baptist Church. Our goal is to encourage, support, and bless families in our neighborhood. Manoa Moms is a community of families. You do not have to be Christian or live in Manoa to join our classes or gatherings. You are loved. You are not alone. We are in this together.
MOM + ME CLASSES
ABOUT MOM + ME PRESCHOOL
WHEN:
Mom + Me preschool classes will resume on Wednesday, September 6. We will meet each Wednesday this semester from 11 AM-12 PM. Our final class of the semester is on Wednesday, November 15.
WHO:
Mom + Me is for moms (or any caring grown up–grandparents, dads, aunties, uncles, etc.) and their keiki. The lessons and activities are best for children, ages 2-5.
Our class is led by Dani Beth Crosby. Dani Beth is the family & communications minister at University Avenue Baptist Church. Dani Beth has a Bachelor of Arts in Music Education and a Master of Education. The class wouldn’t be possible without our loving classroom aunties, Aunty Liane (retired special education teacher) and Aunty Carolyn.
WHAT:
This semester, our one-hour (sometimes we play longer) class includes free play, circle time, & a music lesson. We provide all the supplies for the activities. Moms & keiki show up to play and learn. Mom + Me preschool class is a ministry of University Avenue Baptist Church. We aim to help kids build a love of learning as they learn of God’s love for them.
WHY:
It is our joy to serve families in our community. We know that being a mom, or caretaker, can be lonely and hard. We want to bless moms and their kids by providing an hour of joy, filled with friendship, learning, and fun.
MOM + ME BABY CLASS

ABOUT MOM + ME BABY
WHO:
Mom + Me is for moms (or any caring grown up–grandparents, dads, aunties, uncles, etc.) and their baby (12 months and younger).
A playgroup will be provided for older siblings during each class. The playgroup will meet in the connecting room, and will be led by two adults and a number of preteen and teenager volunteers. All adults working with children have completed a background check.
Meredith Palicte will be facilitating the Mom + Me baby group. Meredith is a mother of 3 boys, ages 4, 2, and 5 months.
WHAT:
The goal of this class is to:
- Provide a safe, relaxing environment for moms to exhale and feel poured into
- Provide a safe, loving environment for babies
- Encourage community that extends beyond the class
Class will include guided activities for mom & baby to connect with one another, educational presentations for moms, discussion time, and snacks.
WHY:
Motherhood can be exhausting and lonely. Especially in the first year post-partum, many moms experience anxiety, depression and are challenged by the lack of sleep and support. We want to provide a safe place for moms to come and rest. We will offer practical tips for parenting as well as spiritual insights that will help moms not only care for their babies but for their own souls as well.
