What Else Can We Talk About?

Dani Beth Crosby
Family & Communications Minister
I was on the phone with a friend the other day and they asked, “What’s new?” We both started laughing because, these days, it feels like nothing is new. Our church family is diverse in many ways. We have households of multiple generations, single family households, households made of roommates, and households made of individuals. Whatever your household looks like, there is a good chance you have run out of new things to talk about.
IF:Table is a free resource with monthly Table Conversation Cards. Below you will find the family discussion questions for this month. I challenge you to use the questions during a meal with your family and/or over the phone with a friend this week.
One of the promises of God we will look at this weekend in our family worship video is Deuteronomy 31:8. It says, “The LORD himself goes before you and will be with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged.” This would be a great verse to share at the beginning of your meal or phone call.

How would you describe how this year has been for you?
What has brought you comfort lately?
What does God say about our fear?
What has God taught you recently? How can you share that with someone else?
