#WORSHIPWEDNESDAYS

Meredith Palicte, Worship & Internationals Minister

In the midst of everything that is going on in the world right now, it is easy to feel defeated because there are so many unknowns. We don’t know how long this pandemic will last, how it will impact us, or how the world will be changed because of it. However; we know the One who is unchanging. I take great comfort in knowing that our faithful God is the same yesterday, today and forever! (Hebrews 13:8)

When we look at the Bible, we see many examples of people going through times of trouble and hardship where they couldn’t see the end result. I wonder if the Israelites, while wandering in the desert, felt a little bit like we do now- wondering how long they would have to wait for “normal” to resume.

We can find great hope in knowing that the same God who rescued the Israelites from Egypt and brought them into the Promised Land, the God who saved Daniel from the lion’s den, the One who healed the sick and raised the dead- is the same God who will see us through the coronavirus pandemic.

So when our minds start to wander down the spiral of anxious thoughts, when we find ourselves dwelling on the unknowns- instead of letting our thoughts stay there- we can shift them upward. Instead of looking at the present circumstances, let’s fill our minds with the truth we know about the unchanging God.

The worship team helped compile this playlist of songs that will remind us of who God is. As you listen and sing along, you will be proclaiming the eternal characteristics of God: that He is worthy, He is holy, He is great, He is always faithful, He’s the great I am, the Lion and the Lamb, the Salt and Light…He’s the Way-maker, He’s always good and He is holy, holy, holy!

I pray that you will be encouraged as you listen and sing along!
